July 25 to August 1, 2010 (8 days)

The Jewish population of Poland before the Holocaust was equivalent to a total population of certain countries. In order to understand how much Humanity has lost, one must know the richness of Jewish culture before the Destruction. The journey will take us into the heart of Jewish life, on the path of great Yiddish writers, such as Sh. An-Ski, Asch, Peretz, Pinski, the brothers Singer and others.  We will discover the historical Poland (Vaad Arba Aratzot, Krakow schools), the workers' Poland (Bund), the Poland of the  shtetel (great Hassidic dynasties). We will visit the former capital city of Krakow, the shtetlekh of Central Poland such as Szydlowiec, Przysucha, Gora Kalwaria (Ger), the great industrial city of Lodz and the capital Warsaw.
