"It's now the past" is a very personal work about the transmission of memory. In that quest the author attempts to rebuild her childhood recollections and her father's everyday life, outside of the amnesia effect that the traumatic disappearance of the previous generation produced on her father and then on herself.

In this book Jean-Pierre Huster tells the moving story of his mother, Suzanne, daughter of Jewish immigrants from Poland, starting at her childhood during WW I until the tragedies brought to her by WW II. Her missed vocation of being a movie actress will be realized by her son, Francis Huster.
