The American yiddishland 
To explore the past and the present of Yiddish in the largest Jewish city in the world;   commemorate the 150^th anniversary of Sholem Aleykhem’s birth in his city of adoption; commemorate the 100th anniversary of Ynkev Gordin’s death. We will visit places and meet Jewish and non-Jewish personalities in relation to Jewish life in the “goldene medine” and especially in the “big apple”. Some of the encounters will be held in Yiddish (with translation for those who do not understand this language)
